My goal for today... :)

Is to get all the laundry in this house done and put away. I am doing good with getting a lot of it washed, dryed and folded (probably only 1 more load to wash) but haven't put any away yet. I am going to wait until it is all done and then tackle my least favouite part of laundry.
I went to the gym this morning. I just happened to wake up around 4:15 am and was feeling quite awake so I said to myself that I just should go and get a workout in since I was awake. Had a pretty good workout as I do when I go to the gym. This may be the last early morning gym trip that I make for a bit since bootcamp starts next week :) I really am excited to try something different for working out.
I forgot to see if matthew was in the monday swimming classes so we totally missed his class yesterday :( I called them this morning as I had not heard for sure if he was in it or on the wait list and he is in it. Oh well, I am sure he will be able to catch up to the other kids in his class pretty quick. We are going to be busy this winter when I am off. he has swimming on monday and most likely will be doing speech when I am off and school tues and thurs and every other friday and a group out in hagersville for 2 hrs on wed afternoon. It is good for him to be so involved in things. I am sure that his dad will keep taking him skating when he is able to on the weekend.
The kids were up nice and early this morning compared to when they normally are up which was so nice cause I did not feel rushed at all getting them off to school and usually tuesdays are my least fave day since Chris has enrichment and needs to be at school at 8:20. Matthew seemed pretty excited to be going back. I hope he has a great day today.
I am excited about pay day tomorrow. I am really hoping that it is good. it should be since I worked 6 shifts this pay and 2 of them were time and a half shifts.
Must go and work on my goal :)

monday morning :)

So while the kids are heading back to school after vaccation and a lot of other people starting back to their regular routines after enjoying the holidays I am in bed just surfing the web before i go to sleep. That is one thing about working shift work, you tend to be ending your day when a lot of people are starting it (when I say shift work I should say that I work 99% nights and do like it that way). We had a good night at work last night. Had a couple of interesting things and i did have my first, starting an IV on someone in handcuffs. Work is for sure not a dull place :)
Hope to wake up feeling well rested as I need to do my run. I am so glad that I have some good music to get me pumped for my run.
Taking Matthew for his 1st day back at school tomorrow. I am sure he will be excited to get back. I hope he adjusts just fine to being back.
I am going to enjoy my 2 days off before going back to work wed night. I know that I said I was available for a few shifts I hope to pick up just one and then I will x myself off for all the other days. I am thinking of doing 5 shifts a pay if given the opportunity. What would be totally awesome would be to get a temp full time line in the spring. I really hope that I do get asked.
I need to call Matthew's SLP today to set up our next appt with her. I really hope that she can notice some changes in Matthews speech. We need to really get on the go with a way for him to learn better communication. I am starting to wonder if he would do well with PECS or what we will do. I sure hope that it will come to him soon.

So when I got up from my sleep today I totally rocked it on the treadmill. I ran for 20 min straight :) I am just going to keep going with 20 min running for a bit. I will have to reread my running book to see how long it tells me I should do that but I think it is for 3-4 weeks. I will proably do it for the month (if that is what it suggests). I will try to do it at least 3-4 times/week. I am hoping tht I won't be too sore from bootcamp to keep me from running.
I am attemping to tackle the huge montain of laundry that accumulated in my laundry room. I am really hoping to have it all done and put away by the end of the day. Not quite sure what else I have planned for tomorrow. Matthew and Chris will be in school and I don't have any appts or anything. I probably will do some cleaning and organizing. I actually should try to organize the spare room tomorrow.

brrr it is so cold out...

Last night I had to get gas on my way to work and it was so cold out. Today it looks like it is the same but I haven't been outside yet. I will have to make sure to dress warm for my drive to work. The hot coffee will help too.
We made a chicken in the crock pot but I think that I will just stick with the leftover stirfry from the Keg the other night. I just hope that it will still be ok.
We had an ok night at work last night. Had a nice long break but because I slept in and had a nap yesterday I was not able to fall asleep while on my break. I did have an awesome sleep today though and when I got up I did about 30 min walk on the treadmill. I still have that bloated feeling and my period isn't supposed to come for another 12 days so I am not really sure what it up with that. I have been a bit constipated so that could be the issue. I will take something tomorrow to see if that gets me going ;)
I had a sneak peak at the scale today and wasn't overally impressed with what I saw. I guess what I had on NYE really did a lot of damage but I must say it was worth it as the food and drinks were so yummy. I can't focus too much on what I did but rather what I can do to undo the damage which is what I have done since the 1st. I am hoping that when I go for my WI on thursday the extra weight will be gone :) Tomorrow, wed and thurs I will do my running and maybe on tuesday I will go to the gym for my last early morning workout for a while.
Well I must start getting ready for work. Hope to have a good night at work.

back to work tonight

I am sad that I have to go back to work tonight but I guess it was bound to happen at some point right ;) I am actually working the next 2 nights. I need to make sure that I do a run before I go to work. I thinnk that I am going to do it when Kevin gets back from watching a hockey game. I am surprised that my little man didn't want to go with his daddy but he is sitting in bed with me watching TV while I am doing stuff on the computer. I figured out how to add new music to my ipod using my laptop (very easy) and I created a running playlist which means all upbeat music and I won't have to shuffle through songs while running. I have 10 songs on that playlist right now which will work until I get past 30 min of running which won't happen for a while. I am going to keep up to date with downloading current songs to my ipod and when I hear one that is really motivational I will add it to my running playlist :)
We had a good dinner at Kevins parents last night. I was so tired though we left a little bit after 7. I think I was asleep by 9 last night. I hope that means that I won't have to have a nap today but we will see how I feel. I need to run over to the boot camp place before noon today to drop of the cheques for signing up which again I am so very excited about starting it. Next sat I will go to the demo session which I am so excited about it. I am going to give it my all when I do it. It will be nice to do the 6 am classes. I will have to give her my schedule soon. I actually should give it to her on the 6th which should be plenty of time for her to let me know if something doesn't work out.
We are going to have bbq steak, potatos and carrots for supper again tonight. Just leftover steak from Christmas Eve and I just loved everything done on the bbq that night that I want to have it again :)
Well that will be all for now. I will be doing my offical 1st WI of the new year on thursday. I am really hoping to see a certain number but I won't let myself be totally upset if I don't see it. I am going to be perfectly OP this week (well I usually am but over the holidays it was a little more difficult).

Happy New Year, may 2010 be an awesome year :)

wow 2010 is here I can't believe it. 2009 was a good year but this year will be even better.
Matthew has come such a long way this past year. He is saying a lot more things, plays well with other kids, finished preschool and is loving JK, played soccer, tried hockey, learned to play the computer and is becoming more independent. Chris has had a good year he played soccer and hockey (scored 2 goals this season), made a new friend just down the street and is doing ok in grade 5. We bought a trailer the end of June and we had a lot of fun using it this summer and looking forward to another year fiulled with camping. I struggled with things the beginning of the year but the middle of September something clicked and I made soem positive changes in my life. I rejoined WW at 204.8 lbs and my last WI of 2009 I weighed 172 lbs. I lost 32.8 lbs so far and am looking forward to becoming a lifetime member of WW in 2010 which has been something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I believe that 1st time I joined WW was when I was in grade 10! I have been including physical activity in pretty much everyday of my life and I hope to be able to include it in every day of my life for 2010, even if it is just a little walk. Everything counts no matter what I do. I started a run program and am now on week 8 of this. I am hoping that I will be able to run my first 5K this year but we will see how that goes. I really hope that I will be able to start saving some money this year and paying off some debts which is something I really need to work on. I am hoping that we will get some much needed painting and renovations on the house. Painting would be our room and the hallway. Renovations would be in the basement (including a new carpet) and finishing the deck.
We had a great time with friends last night. The kids all got along great as did the adults ;) Matthew woke up about 10:30 but didn't even come to our room. He just went downstairs and played on his compute until we got up. We are going to Kevins parents for supper tonight. It will be nice to not have to cook anything for supper tonight.
We will be taking the tree down at some point today. I really should go through the decorations and get rid of things that we won't be using. I may even buy some new decorations for next years tree. It would be nice to have some matching ones.
I am excited about starting bootcamp. I am hoping that this will help me lose some weight. I have about 30 lbs to go and boot camp is for 12 weeks. I would love to have the 30 lbs off by then but will be happy with 20 lbs. I am going to ask my Dr for a note to set my goal weight for WW at 150 lbs (hopefully he will do this). That is a good goal I think for myself to have completed by the end of bootcamp (this will put us at easter). When we go down east in August I really hope to be at my goal weight of 140-145 lbs (need to see how tall I am again ;) )
Well I must go and make my rolls for supper.

new years eve :)

Yesterday was so awesome. I really like the hockey hall of fame and we were able to see all the olympic medals which was very cool. I think my favourite part was sitting and listening to the history of world hockey. Supper at the keg was fantastic. For my app I had baked goat cheese. I had tried this at work since a girl brought some in (husband manages a Keg) and fell in love with it. I could not believe how awesome it was fresh!!! Has to be one of my fave new foods :)
I had a few glasses of wine between there and our visit with friends after. Drank water, took some ibuprofen and gravol and woke up feeling just fine ;)
I had a waxing appt today and I love how I feel after I am all waxed. I then had an appt with the founder of better body bootcamp. I have signed up (just need to take the cheques to her on sat). I am so excited to try something different. It sounds like it will be an awesome workout and she said she is always changing things up in the classes which will be great. I just need to buy some weights. i will get them at walmart.
Very excited for tonight. We are having a bunch of people over for food and drinks. Always seems to be a good time when we all get together on NYE. I have been doing some cleaning and have most of it done. My wonderful husband has been great in tidying up the basement. Really all I have left for cleaning is the kitchen and it is mostly done. Once the cleaning is done I need to start making the foundues which really should not take that long. I am so excited about having chesse fondue. It is for sure my fave type of fondue :) I even have some kid friendly foods but am not really sure how many kids will actually be coming. I know that my little man will be with us.
I can't believe that this is the last day of 2009. This year had flown by and I must say that it was a pretty good year. I am very happy that I have started to finally take better care of myself. It is beneficial for all of us. I am going to start writting in my journal that my sister got me tomorrow. I of course will have my resolutions in there. I have a lot of things that I really hope to accomplish in 2010.

date afternoon and supper out with my wonderful husband :)

Very excited to spend some time with just my husband :) We are going to have to make sure we have more date nights in the new year. Maybe 2 a month would be a realistic goal. We do have a sitter right across the street so there is no reason that we can't achieve this goal :) I am excited to go to Toronto. I just hope that Kevin will get off on time so we make it to the hockey hall of fame before it closes.
Tomorrow will be another exciting evening. Our new years eve party. We are having a bunch of friends over with their kids to ring in the new year. Should be lots of fun. I am going to try a new drink out (but will make sure to have a back up just incase). Belinni's are my new fave drink and I just hope that between Jocelyn and myself we can recreate this yummy drink. I will have to get another bag of frozen peaches though. If it turns out I am sure that 1 will not be enough :)
I did my last early morning workout for the year this morning. There was hardly anyone at the gym, it was awesome. Tomorrow I am meeting with Jill, from bootcamp to see what they have to offer. i would love a change in my workout and I think a bootcamp would be the perfect change. I need to make sure that what ever I decide to do that it is something I can do 2-3 times/week. I will keep doing my running program of course, expecially since I am on week 8 of it. I may spend 2 weeks on week 9 though since it will have me up to 10 min of running with 1 min walk and then run again for 10 min. I think it would take 2 weeks before I would be ready to run 20 min straight but we will see how it goes. I am excited to sign up for the xweighted challenge that starts in January too. it will just be another place to be accountable for healthy eating and exercise. I can't wait to read more about it to see what it all entails.
I am just enjoying my coffee while surfing the web. If I have any good pics from today I will post them. Excited about going out for supper :)
